Dental Technologies

Philadelphia laser dentistryUsing the latest advancements in dental technology, Dr. Marshall provides patients with safer, faster and less intrusive treatment options.

CEREC

The utmost in care, convenience and value, CEREC technology makes possible the one-appointment crown.

If you've ever had a large cavity or broken a tooth, chances are you've had a crown placed in your mouth. You also know that a crown requires at least 2 visits -- one to have the tooth prepared, an impression taken and a temporary placed, then another to have the crown placed. If the temporary comes out or the new crown needs adjustments, that adds even more visits.

With CEREC, the entire process is completed in one appointment. With the precision of 3D computer graphics, the crown is custom-made to fit you perfectly. Better yet, it's made on-site while you wait. It's placed, adjusted and you're off!

Digital X-Rays

Philadelphia cerecDigital x-rays are beneficial to you and Dr. Marshall. First and foremost, digital x-rays significantly decrease your exposure to radiation. With a digital x-ray, Dr. Marshall takes a picture of your teeth, then almost immediately sees it on a computer monitor. This large, color-enhanced image lets her get a better picture of your oral health, allowing for earlier treatment. This process is also better for the environment as it doesn't use photo chemicals and traditional film, thus eliminating waste.

Lasers

Certified in laser dentistry, Dr. Marshall uses a diode laser for improving both health and appearance.

In periodontal (gum) therapy, the diode laser removes dangerous bacteria from beneath the gum line, helping the gum reattach to the tooth, reducing and even reversing the damaging effects of gum disease.

The diode laser is also used to treat apthous ulcers, diminishing the appearance of the ulcer, and assisting in quicker healing of outbreaks.

As a cosmetic tool, the diode laser is used to contour gum tissue, comfortably sculpting a more attractive gum line, enhancing the smile. The laser seals the tissue as it goes, reducing any bleeding or discomfort, and promoting quicker healing.

K7

Myotronics K7 and TENS Unit - For the diagnosis of malocclusion, Dr. Marshall uses the Myotronics K7 system and a Tensing Unit. These tools allow her to gently track the position of your jaw and surrounding muscles, determining the most comfortable position for your bite.

Intra-Oral Cameras

Philadelphia laser dentistryIntra-oral Cameras -Intra-oral cameras have greatly improved the way Dr. Marshall examines her patients' teeth. Using a pen-sized camera, she takes video of your teeth and projects the live image onto a television screen in the treatment room. This image is magnified, allowing her to better see and detect any decay, cracked or leaking fillings or other problems. This technology helps her diagnose and treat problems earlier than was ever before possible.
